June is a Bustin' Out all Over (MHU)

his post is UNDER CONSTRUCTION cleaned up nice and pretty, with just six minutes of the promised Wednesday fix-up to spare!
---
Today is the very first of June, one of my favorite months. I don't like to make other months jealous, but June marks the true beginning of Summer, and always seems like an adventure waiting to happen.

The Month of June is also...

Aquarium Month (Fernando will be so pleased. I should buy him a rock.)
Candy Month (This should be in October, or some month that remotely makes sense. Not the first month of Swimsuit Season!)
Turkey Lovers Month (Again. Shouldn't this be in November?)
Gay Pride Month (Once more, this should be by the Day of Silence, but June is bizarre.)
Dairy Month (Now this I can appreciate. I love me some DAIRY in the summer!)
Fight the Filthy Fly Month (Ready your fly swatters!)
National Accordion Awareness Month (I am overly aware of our accordion every time small children come over to play as it is.)
National Adopt a Cat Month (oh heavens I wish...)
National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month (Woot!)
Rose Month (Woot?)

As the first week of June is this week, I am proud to declare it Fishing Week. I don't fish -it would probably be quite embarrassing- but it seems apt to start out June with fishing. Perhaps I shall celebrate with Goldfish, Swedish Fish, and my pet fish instead.

Today is Monday, and happens to be Flip a Coin Day. Unless you happen to carry around a weighted coin, this could be seen as a holiday of celebrating fairness and equal opportunity. Maybe that's a stretch. But frankly, I'm not a huge fan of this holiday because luck games always bothers me. Rock, Paper, Scissors Day would be much better. Now THAT is a game of strategy!

(look, another diagram of seeming wantonity!)

This Tuesday is National Rocky Road Day, a noble holiday even for those of us who don't love Rocky Road. It's just not for me...but I'm sure Dad must love this holiday! But for me- keep the marshmallows and nuts out of my delicious ice cream, s'il vous plait. Frozen marshmallows defeat the point of their own existence.

Wednesday has the blessing of being Repeat Day. It's also my Math Final and French Final, which I do NOT want to repeat, no matter the holiday's purpose. Which is basically to annoy people, tell as many "Pete and Repeat" jokes as you can, and reflect on memories. So, happy Repeat Day! So, Happy Repeat Day!

As this month happens to be Adopt a Cat Month, Thursday is accordingly Hug Your Cat Day. Had I a cat, I would follow this day religiously. Instead, I'll have to settle with hugging stuffed cats or other nonallergenic replacements. Not nearly as awesome, but you still get a bit of the C: feeling with non of the scratching, hissing, sneezing, or itchy eyes!

And to continue such a fun week, Friday is National Donut Day! AH that is so amazingly cool. Donuts are one of the few foods that I love to talk about even though I really hate eating, taste good no matter what time of day, and spellcheck approves of both in the fancy form (doughnuts) and the simpleton, cutesy and easy form (donuts). Which is very high on my list of appreciative qualities in a word.
(Friday is my very last final, my English Essay! Also my Art final but that's nothin'.)

To make up for eating all those donuts Friday, Saturday is National Exercise in your Garden Day which is an amusing enough name, it hardly needs to be a holiday. I suppose you can interpret it however you want; do you do your daily exercisers in your garden, like Denise Austen? Or maybe it's suggesting you garden with such fervor it becomes exercises...! Whatever it is, it's sure a step up from last Saturday's Water a Flower Day.

Sunday is FINALLY National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. To that I say HOLLA! My friends, this is basically the best revenge for Tuesday everrrr. I LOVE Chocolate Ice Cream. All of my favorite ice cream types are the descendants of chocolate ice cream, which is basically one of the primary colors of ice cream. A world without chocolate ice cream would be much like a world without yellow. That is to say; horrible! So, raise your flags, voices, and spoons for the SECOND ICE CREAM HOLIDAY IN A WEEK! (I know I scream for ice cream!)
