Saturday in the Park, I Think it was the Fourth of July (MHU)

I'm not quite sure I'll be able to get a MONDAY HOLIDAY UPDATE out next week, as I will be in Utah mentally and physically preparing for one awesome week of efy, but I'd hope so. Making these entries are the only way I'm sure to remember all 7 holidays throughout the week, and I don't want to be the loser at efy who doesn't know it happens to be National Sugar Cookie Day!

However, THIS week I CAN get a MONDAY HOLIDAY UPDATE out, so here it is!

Today is Waffle Iron Day, which is reminiscent of Vaffledagen, a little known holiday we celebrated before I began these silly MONDAY HOLIDAY UPDATES. However, we still have Internet verification of the celebration, and I think that should be enough. :P I hope we can have waffles for dinner...because waffles for dinner are much better than waffles for breakfast. Besides, breakfast is over.

Tomorrow is Meteor Watch Day. However, I searched all over google and there aren't any meteor showers tomorrow. But maybe, if you live far from lights or you're patient or you're magic or you're all three, you can find some lone shooting stars! Sitting in the grass in the warm, Tuesday-evening-in-Summer air waiting for something you know isn't going to happen is also recommended. That sounds so nice.

I LOVE Wednesday's holidays. Now, I haven't recommended multiple holidays to be celebrated on one day in awhile, but these three are so beautiful. Number one is CANADA DAY! Basically like the fourth of July, but better if you happen to be Canadian! And if you don't happen to be Canadian, today is a great day to wish you were, perhaps by tacking "eh" onto the end of applicable phrases, listening to Barenaked Ladies (the band, please), or spending some of your recession-proof money at only-in-canada.com! Now, the other just-as-lovely holidays happen to be CREATIVE ICE CREAM FLAVOR DAY (I know. It's like...meant for me or something), which sounds like a lovely reason to crack out your Ben + Jerry's recipe book every household should have even if they don't use it (it's hilarious just to read by itself!) and International Joke Day! I would give you some examples of how to celebrate that, but it should be amazingly self-explanatory.

By the way. This picture makes no sense, as while Superman fights for the entire human race, he's a defender of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" and happens to be a very proud American citizen raised on American values. But Canada is awesome, and Superman is awesome, and a combo of the two is too exciting to NOT show off. BEST Canadian flag Google Images has!

As Wednesday is the first of July, I must remind you! July is--
National Blueberry Month (Michigan Blueberries are ~the best~, by the way)
National Anti-Boredom Month (Who couldn't go for that?!)
Unlucky Month for weddings (though I think any month is lucky for weddings)
National Cell Phone Courtesy Month (YAY!)
National Hot Dog Month (Another yay!)
National Ice Cream Month (BIGGEST YAY OF ALL!)

UFO's tend to be a cause of much entertainment. They can be a source of great shows on the Discovery channel, excellent black-and-white movies, exciting modern movies (at least one per summer), debate among believers and nonbelievers, and the loss-of-credibility for scientists. They also make great holidays for Thursdays! On UFO day, you should probably entertain yourself with one of the previously mentioned exciting ordeals. We will be travelling by plane on Thursday, so I'll make sure to look out my window and see what I can see. I will be 30,000 feet closer than those on the ground.

Friday is also a very excellent holiday. For your self-esteem, especially. It's Compliment your Mirror day, so make sure you get in front of your mirror with a great, big smile, and tell that darling reflection just how beautiful he or she is. It helps if you have a reflective shirt.

Then there's Saturday! I love Saturday!! For you fools who don't know why I love Saturday, it's because it's the FOURTH OF JULY! Independence Day at its finest! Would you know I haven't had an Independence Day with my family since I was 13? We spent that one in our truck bed, with blankets, fried chicken, and Sami. A superb way to spend the holiday celebrating the day Americans officially broke ties with our mother country. And taking my online-summer-course in Government, I will hopefully appreciate it all the more.

The first Sunday in July is many things. Not only is it fast Sunday, the day before efy, and the start of Nude Recreation Week (please remain in France or elsewhere I cannot see you if you so choose to celebrate this holiday). It is also Build-a-Scarecrow day! I have to admit, I've NEVER built a scarecrow. I've built-a-bear, but not a scarecrow. Perhaps it's time to try my hand at THAT. Though I can't promise any brains.

Saturday in the Park can be found by Chicago, and I've been waiting YEARS for it to be applicable!
